“Your husband is a mushy ol’ pile of rot.”

If you haven't seen Parks and Recreation, start watching now! It's similar to The Office, but with Amy Poehler and even more hilarious. The above quote is from one of my favorite episodes: 94 Meetings

Politics

I attended the Alex Sink election night party in Tampa at the Marriott downtown. I loved it! There were all kinds of people - formally dressed to punk. All races/beliefs and the party was beautifullll. So much energy! I went for journalism to interview people but it made me wish I was more into politics. Now I'm pumped for the Democrats to win for governor! At the moment, Rick Scott is leading with 50% of votes while Alex has 47%. 81% of votes have been reported. I'm not a huge fan of her personally (although I'm also fairly uneducated) but it's inspiring to see how many different kinds of people she's affected. We spoke to the owners of Ybor City, (who knew it was owned?) two gay men who run a store there. As a Democrat, Sink supports gay rights which I definitely appreciate. I met some interesting, open-minded people. I thought if they were all there - she must be doing something right!

I followed Florida elections for class, but the party tonight made me take a second look at politics. I didn't follow Pennsylvania at all.

next day UPDATE: Sink lost to Scott : (  I stayed up til 4 am but didn't find out she lost until the next morning. He had 49% of votes while Sink had fricken 48%. According to CNN, only 90% of votes have already been counted? But he still has majority.
