I love reading blogs - it's sort of part of a daily routine.
I do not know any of these bloggers in real life, I've somehow stumbled upon them online!
Here are my faves:
1. Les Jours Contents - Lisa is a smart, thoughtful writer. She shares her love story with Ben - they are curious, adventure-seeking and low maintenance in the best way.
2. The Skinny Confidential - Lauren is the epitome of a lifestyle blogger. She loves make-up, fashion, health and travel but is so chill and has her own unique habits - not cookie cutter! Also, she shares her hilarious relationship with her fiance - childhood sweethearts, more or less.
3. Simply, Taralynn - Tara's blog is like an online journal - what she eats, does and feels in a day! She shares her life with readers and is very driven and successful as an online entrepreneur.
4. So Delushious - I love that Chrissy Teigen is a gorgeous model and lovessss to eat! I haven't made any of her recipes yet but they make my mouth water and she adds no-bullshit humor to the descriptions.

Azura
This name just caught my eye. So beautiful and love the meaning -
The name Azura is a French baby name. In French the meaning of the name Azura is: Sky-blue. People with this name have a deep inner desire for travel and adventure, and want to set their own pace in life without being governed by tradition.

Pray for Nepal
Since the devestating earthquake rocked Nepal on Saturday, the death toll has risen to more than 4,000.
Let that sink in for a second. Three days - over 4,000 deaths.
I saw my twenty-something brother today and mentioned the earthquake. He had only vaguely heard of it. I work in an international college setting and we have a group of Nepalese students. Still, I find it hard to comprehend how natural disasters cause these human death tolls and still people are unaware. You could say my brother is living under a rock, but I know with certainty there are many others in his shoes. I'm not sure what statement I'm trying to make with this; just that it saddens me. The Nepalese people are losing everything, and many U.S. citizens do not know the country even exists.
This may be more of a rant about the media. I'm not sure. Either way, #prayfornepal and donate here: https://www.crowdrise.com/NepalEarthquakeFund/fundraiser/urgensherpa
(a La Roche Nepalese student's efforts as part of a larger group)

Realization
Just now I thought - I'm sitting on my computer in my room finding amazing songs, images and ideas on tumblr, blogs, pinterest, twitter .... I'm the first to say that I'm not the biggest fan of social media. But it's undeniable that it can make us feel so connected to the world - the parts of the world that we want to be a part of. It lets us know that other people have similar ideas, think the way we do and recognize beauty in the same images and quotes that we do.
There's a lot of negative out there, but the Internet gives us the possiblity to stumble across someone we relate to or an image that really strikes a chord.
